Working in partnership with growers

The Bulrush team work in close co-operation with many of the UK and Ireland's leading professional growers advising, formulating and producing a wide range of customised mixes.

Modern, large scale crop production depends on the use of consistent quality substrates to secure crop success. Bulrush covers a wide spectrum of substrates which commercial growers need. We have the ideal product for every crop and every growing method.

Recipes can be tailored to individual nursery and crop requirements. Investment has been made into the very latest equipment to ensure quick and seamless production to provide the grower with the products needed and quality is maintained through the care that goes into the production process from harvesting through packing to final quality control checking.

Superior Raw Material Resources

megabalesThe quality system starts with good quality raw materials being used in the products. All peat harvesting is under the control of company personnel and is carried out to strict specifications and within the environmental parameters that our operations must comply with.

The Forest Gold Plus peat replacement material is manufactured under closely controlled conditions to ensure consistent physical and chemical characteristics.

All other additives such as bark, fertilisers, lime, etc. are sourced from quality approved suppliers.

Unique Batch Mixing Procedure

All production is done using batch mixers to ensure a high standard of consistency and traceability. There is no more accurate mixing method available and when the product has to perform to the highest expectations then this production method really provides exceptional levels of control and quality.

Our modern production facilities combine high volume output with flexibility to cope with the many grower and crop specific products which we manufacture. We aim to maintain a seven working day order lead time for most of the year with no more than ten working days at the height of the spring season.

Reference samples are retained form every production batch for a period of twelve months in case required for testing and analysis. We can also supply substrate analyses to meet the requirements of various grower quality standards and trade groups.
