Bulrush Horticulture set up its Research and Development department in 1992 when Neil Bragg joined the Company.

Neil had moved from ADAS where he worked as a leading specialist in horticultural substrates, with an international reputation for his work on AFP measurements in substrates.

The department was strengthened when Ann McCann joined Neil as his assistant in the mid 1990’s.

The role of the Research & Development department is to examine all of the products the Company currently produce and to benchmark these against other leading brands.

The department also leads the field in terms of its knowledge base of peat reduction by the use of a wide variety of additives.
